cobwebCobweb felt is featherweight, sheer and surprisingly sturdy. Using this technique, amazingly gossamer scarves with beautiful drape can be created. Add embellishments or make deliberate gaps to enhance your piece. In this half-day workshop, students will have a choice of different wool blends to achieve a desired effect. Basic felting skills are helpful, but no essential for this advanced class. Materials fee covers all materials and use of equipment. Students should bring along two bath towels. Price includes a $30 materials fee.

Learn traditional wet-felting techniques, which build a skill of felt making and a knowledge of wool that goes beyond nuno felting. Bring your favorite wool-blend or silk yarns and beads or trim to build texture and create surface design. Learn how to work with a resist, how to manage "seams" and how to size an item for yourself.
